Hutspot on October 1, 2 and 3
Celebrate the Leiden Liberation with us!
On October 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, we will be serving our homemade hutspot to mark the 450th anniversary of the Leiden Liberation.
Leiden was liberated in 1574 after a long siege by the Spanish. The city was saved when the watergeuzen broke through and brought herring and white bread for the starving inhabitants.
The Spanish left behind a pot of hutspot: a hearty stew made from potatoes, carrots, and onions
This year, the Leiden Liberation is celebrated over three days to honor the 450th anniversary, and you are warmly invited to join us in this special tradition.
